Savings & Investing Calculators

Savings and investing arithmetic is compound interest wearing different clothes. Each calculator here separates the money you put in from the growth on top of it, because that split is what makes a projection honest.

Choosing between them

Money you might need without warning belongs where the savings calculator models it: accessible, floating rate. Money with a known date fits a CD, which pays more precisely because it locks. Money with a long horizon is what the investment calculator projects — with the standing caveat that a constant annual return is a modelling convenience, not a forecast.

If what you have is a target rather than a plan, start from the savings goal calculator and let it tell you the deposit. Run the same contributions over 10 years and over 25, and the gap will tell you more than any change of interest rate.
