Tax Calculators
Every tax figure here is transcribed from an official IRS or Social Security Administration publication for tax year 2026, and each calculator shows the steps — taxable income, tax by bracket, credits — instead of one number you have to take on trust.

How these calculators fit together
Federal income tax is the trunk and the rest are branches. Capital gains stack on top of ordinary income, which is why that calculator asks for your taxable income first. Self-employment tax is computed before income tax and then feeds a deduction back into it. Payroll tax is the employer-side view of the same FICA that appears on a pay stub. Running them in that order — income first, then the specific event — mirrors how a return is actually assembled.
Where a 2026 figure could not be confirmed against a primary government source, the calculator says so rather than estimating. The sources page lists every figure used and where it came from. Results are estimates based on what you enter, not tax advice.
